The New Horizons Association (the organiser of the Kids Kino IFF, the Kids Kino Industry co-production forum, and the Kids Kino Lab script development workshops) and the South Norwegian Film Centre (Sørnorsk filmsenter) announce the call for projects for the second edition of the Kids Kino Docs documentary development programme for filmmakers from Poland and Norway.

Second call: 2nd of June – 1st of August

Are you from Poland or Norway? Do you have a documentary project in development? Apply to Kids Kino Docs!

The 15 months’ programme will provide 6 participants with an opportunity to develop their projects in an international community under the guidance of a leading tutor and documentary film professionals. The projects eligible for the programme include: short, medium-length, and full-length films and series.

As part of the workshop sessions, participants will work on a variety of aspects: improving their ideas, collecting documentation, preparing for filming, filming itself, and, finally, editing.

The schedule of Kids Kino Docs consists of four workshop rounds in Poland and Norway. They are focused on work on film material produced by participants within the programme. Thanks to the experience of our tutors, Kirsten Bonnén Rask and Paweł Ziemilski, and many years of working with the Kids Kino Lab script development workshops, we have developed a method tailored to the needs of documentary filmmakers, which are different from the needs of filmmakers developing feature or animation projects.

By participating in the programme:

  • you will create a well-developed story,
  • you will complete part of the shooting material,
  • you will start editing your film,
  • you will consult your project with local and international experts,
  • you will expand your network in the local and international film industry.

The organisers offer assistance in the development of your project, including documentation, editing, or shooting. If you have more questions about the programme and the support we offer, please email us at: zofia.horszczaruk@nowehoryzonty.pl.

The call for the second edition of Kids Kino Industry started on the 2nd of June and will last until the 1st of August.
