Kids Kino Industry 2022 Winners Announced!

We are thrilled to share the announcement of the awarded projects that took part in the pitching section and were recognised by our partners and sponsors of the awards!

Kids Kino Industry 2022 Winners:

The Audiovisual Technology Center (CeTA) Special Award – 30,000 PLN for co-production in-kind contribution went to a Polish live-action film:

TOSIA

presented at Kids Kino Industry by Wojciech Janik and Wojciech Stuchlik (Film Production Wojciech Stuchlik).

The project was developed at Kids Kino Lab under the guidance of Philip LaZebnik and Ronald Kruschak.

The award was given by Anna Szadkowska, Production Manager at the Audiovisual Technology Center in Wrocław.

Motivation: If angels were to fly, we have the right equipment and a green screen studio to make that happen.

The ORKA Production Award – 15,000 PLN for a supporting service of ORKA Production in fundraising for co-production of a project with Poland went to a Latvian live-action film:

SECRETS OF THE GREAT BOG

presented at Kids Kino Industry by Līga Gaisa and Antra Gaile (Air Productions).

Motivation: For creating a world with the spirit of genre cinema and a focus on environmental sustainability.

ORKA Production, our new partner, granted another ORKA Production Award worth 10,000 PLN for the development of one project at ORKA Production. The award was given to a Slovak live-action film:

MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

presented at Kids Kino Industry by Daniel Rihák and Martina Sakova (WHAT IF Films).

Motivation: For a project that is very Polish in nature and valuable to Polish audiences.

Both awards were given by Alicja Gancarz, Head of Development and Producer at ORKA Production.

m:brane Exchange Award for the Best Pitch at Kids Kino Industry was handed to a live-action series:

GHOUL FRIENDS

presented at Kids Kino Industry by Reece Cargan (BOMBITO PRODUCTIONS).

Motivation: m:brane selected Ghoul Friends because it’s a challenging and inspiring story, told in an exciting context. We’re really looking forward to seeing this TV series.

The award was given by Lennart Ström, Managing Director at m:brane. The award is an invitation to pitch at the m:brane forum in 2023.

Last but not least, the CEE Animation Forum Exchange Award for the Best Pitch at Kids Kino Industry went to a Polish animated series:

UNDER THE FLOOR

presented at Kids Kino Industry by Łukasz Kacprowicz and Eryk Sarniak (Running Rabbit Films).

Motivation: It’s great to see the growing potential of the creators from Central and Eastern Europe. The creators are going for more and more ambitious projects and this is the proof of the project “Under the Floor”. We look forward to introducing it to our audience.

Marta Jallageas, Managing Director at the CEE Animation Forum, couldn’t come to Warsaw, so the award was presented on her behalf by Zosia Horszczaruk, Head of Kids Kino Industry.

The award is an invitation to the CEE Animation Forum in 2023.

Congratulations to all the winners!

The awards ceremony was followed by an aperitif co-hosted by Łódź Film Commission. Thank you for your support.

The winners were announced during the Awards Ceremony on the 29th of September, but it wasn’t the last day of the Kids Kino Industry! On Friday, we had two more online sessions. The links to the streaming were available for the accredited guests on the KKI platform.

The recordings of the sessions and live pitchings from Kinoteka, together with pre-recorded longer pitches, are already available on the KKI platform. The recordings from today’s sessions will appear on the platform shortly.
You can use the platform for up to one month after the event ends.
