BEYOND STEREOTYPES: Creating stories for a young audience

The webinar will be held live, February 15th, 2021, ZOOM

There is a notable shift in representation of minority groups and gender to be noticed in children’s media as diversity matters stronger than ever. But we can still do better in presenting all parts of our society.

How do we achieve authentic diversity in order to avoid stereotypes?

During this talk our Belgian guests will delve into what true inclusivity means, where does it start and how we implement it in our children’s programmes.

Speakers: Geert Torfs, “Sir Mouse” producer, Fabrique Fantastique, An Feyfer, Talent Development, Vlaams Audiovisual Fonds, Hanan Challouki, Inclusify and Charlie Dewulf, writer, director & digital marketing producer.

Moderated by: Aminata Demba, actress, presenter & filmmaker, Belgium

Hosted by: Viola Gabrielli, Head of Programme, Kids Kino Industry at New Horizons Association and Katarzyna Janiak, Industry Project Manager at New Horizons Association
