Three friends go on a journey to discover what happens to socks that disappear in the washer.
Ruth (8) and her mother Anita (33) have moved for the ninth time. Ruth hates it. The only positive part is the two other kids in the building, Sunniva and Karim. When their washer breaks down, they must use the washer in the apartment building’s cellar. When Ruth is given the dull task of washing clothes, she discovers that the basement washer is a portal to the parallel world of Metusia: the land where the Lommings lives (a hamster-like creature), who feeds on socks. But Metusia is ravaged by the evil witch Wicked-V, so Ruth, together with her friends Sunniva and Karim, must save the world of Metusia from this threat.
